Pickaroon

Logging Pickaroon — Log Handling & Forestry Tool

Move pulpwood, firewood, and cants with less bending

A pickaroon is purpose-built for grabbing, dragging, and stacking rounds and sticks. The angled point bites into the wood for a secure hold while you reposition material on the landing, in the wood yard, or at the splitter. L.G. Isaacson stocks logging and mill supplies chosen for real-world use in the Pacific Northwest — not showroom specs.

Highlights

  • Angled pick point: Wedges into fiber for an anti-slip bite when lifting or rolling logs.

  • Solid leverage: Typical forged head (~1.5 lb class) for controlled penetration without feeling unwieldy.

  • Hickory-style handle options: Common lengths include shorter handles for tight decks and longer handles for reach — ask what we have in stock.

  • Multi-use in the field: Pulpwood, firewood, mill cleanup, and landing work where you need speed and sure handling.

Talk to sales

Vendors and SKUs rotate. Call the store nearest you (numbers above) and ask for logging tools, pickaroons, and related rigging. You can also email office@lgisaacson.com with photos or part numbers.

Why buy your pickaroon from L.G. Isaacson?

Dealer-grade selection: We stock tools for logging, sawmill, and industrial users — the same lines crews rely on in the field, not disposable big-box oddments.

Know-how at the counter: If you are matching a handle length, comparing head weight, or buying for a landing vs. a firewood processor, our sales staff can translate the job into the right SKU.

Three locations, one standard: Aberdeen (original location), Longview, and Tumwater — large inventories and experienced people.

Honest policy since 1911: If we do not have the exact pickaroon you want today, we will tell you and help source or substitute responsibly.

Product FAQ

Do you ship pickaroons?

We regularly supply customers across the Pacific Northwest and can discuss shipping or freight for your order. Many customers also pick up in-store.

Can I order the exact handle length I want?

Whenever multiple lengths or styles are available, we will confirm what is on hand or arriving on the next stock order. Call with your preference.

Is this the same as a hookaroon or a cant hook?

Names in the trade overlap. A pickaroon is typically a handled tool with a pick point for piercing and dragging wood. If you need a rolling hook, peavey, or cant hook, we carry those categories too — ask sales.
